We believe in building strong communities and are proud to support local organisations through our employee volunteering programme. With two paid volunteering days each year available to each staff member, they’re able to dedicate their time to the community causes close to their hearts.
Our colleagues recently rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in at local community causes, including Leek Rugby Club and Consall Scout Camp. For two full days, staff tackled a range of tasks, including painting, cleaning and gardening. It was a fantastic opportunity for their teams to come together to make a tangible difference.
Rob Shropshire, our Operational and Customer Excellence Manager, shared his volunteering experience at Leek Rugby Club:
"It was such a great day volunteering at Leek Rugby Club doing something totally different and helping make a difference to a local club in Leek. My sanding and staining skills were put to the test and I loved the end result. It was great spending time with colleagues that you don’t get chance to speak to during the working day and getting to know them more."
Our volunteering efforts continued at Consall Scout Camp, where a group of 12 staff members set to lend a hand over three days.
Harry Hitchen, our Regulatory Reporting Accountant, took part in the volunteering day at Consall Scout Camp, and said:
“It was a brilliant day enjoying some time away from the screen and making the most of a rare glimpse of sunshine in beautiful surroundings. I spent the day mowing the grass on the camp’s numerous camping fields – fortunately (and excitingly!) with the aid of a ride-on mower.”
