As we continue to roll out our defibrillator programme across our local communities, we were pleased to support a unit outside the Cinebowl in Uttoxeter.
After launching our defibrillator programme with local charity, AEDdonate, in 2023, this unit marks the fourteenth device we’ve been involved in aiding, providing vital support for local people in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
AEDdonate’s Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Richards, said:
"Through our regular checking and management of our AED network, it was recognised that the defibrillator site at Cinebowl in Uttoxeter needed an upgrade. We're delighted that our partners at Leek Building Society were able to support this vital improvement through our ongoing partnership."
The defibrillator is part of a larger initiative that aims to significantly enhance public safety across our four-county region, where we’ll be providing a total of 100 defibrillators over four years.
Our Uttoxeter Branch Manager, Dan Nutt, said:
“As part of the Society’s commitment to install 100 defibrillators over four years, it’s great to see we’ve helped to aid five AED units within Uttoxeter. I feel really proud of this initiative and have seen first-hand the value defibrillators provide in delivering critical care to someone experiencing a cardiac arrest.”
